KIANNA KING | BEGINNERS COACH
Kianna has been in the Film/Theatre industry for about 8 years, coming into it with an Applied Diploma with Honours in Performing Arts from the Canadian College of Performing Arts, as well as a Certificate in Acting from Company of Rogues. She is also a student with Bow Street Academy in Dublin in their online classes.

After she graduated, she performed with Front Row Centre players doing Carrie The Musical and quickly after that, she ran straight into film and tv full time. Some of hercredits include Netflix’s The Abandons, My Life with the Walter Boys, MAYR (Sun-crossed Productions) Mudpie The Primer (Delayed Pioneer Productions), Collective Unconscious (Thunder Lizard Collective) and My Missing Year (Yarn Spinner Productions).

Kianna has also worked in multiple departments for the DGC/ACTRA including Locations, Production, Second Team and as a Principal Actor. She firmly believe that to be an effective actor on set, you have to know the intricate inner workings of how shooting actually works. So Kianna is a big believer in diversifying your on set skills.

Teaching became a natural progression from her work as a performer when she started as an artist in residence for Evergreen Theatre before becoming a full time instructor for kids/teens musical theatre, physical theatre and acting at Sleeping Giants Theatre in Cochrane.

Kianna believes that anyone with the passion to perform can shine on camera, and strives to give actors a wide tool box so when their audition comes in YOU know exactly how to get YOUR best take. She uses a mix of Stanislavsky, Meisner and Gerry Grennell methods to allow flexibility and creativity to flow.

Kianna is beyond excite to be teaching this semester and cannot wait to see the fantastic talent in Airdrie shine.

PAUL BALLIN | OWNER & PRIVATE COACH
Paul started the academy with close to 20 years of on-set experience from Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver and Edmonton. His experience started with print ads and music videos with recording artists such as Chris Brown, Big Sean, Mary J. Blige, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and Nas. Following print ads and music videos in Los Angeles, Paul starred in National Television Commercials in the U.S and Canada for brands such as Pizza Pops, Nissan, Boeing, HomeAdvisor.com and Corona. Paul has appeared in HALLMARK Christmas movies, television shows on ABC, HULU, FOX and most recently, the hit TV Series The Boys on Amazon Prime. Paul is a proud member of ACTRA, the Alliance of Cinema, Television and Radio Artists.

With over 6 years of experience living and working in Los Angeles, California, Paul brings unparalleled experience to Airdrie from the epicenter of entertainment. Paul also had the unique experience of working as a Casting Assistant in Hollywood to reputable Casting Directors. Paul will teach his students the “ins and outs” of how the film industry actually works and strives to help them achieve their dreams, big or small!

Having been a student in countless acting schools and academies in Los Angeles and Toronto, Paul will teach students exactly what they need to know (leaving out all the nonsense) and help find their individual unique approaches to the craft of acting.

Paul believes in a supportive and encouraging class where students can be themselves and explore their creativity confidently.

Paul’s goal as a Director of the academy is to help students successfully break into the entertainment industry, all the while learning a new craft, promoting self-improvement and goal-setting as the major foundations of each class.
